Hey Peoples,

I'm Ernasto from the Netherlands. New Jack Swing (or Swingbeat as it was called here in the Netherlands) is the sound I have fond memories of. Right now, I'm 26 and still searching for those rare Swingbeat/NJS 12"s or CD's... In my spare time I collect music and movies, and I write music reviews for a Asian/Dutch forum called VeryAzn.nl.. Glad to join this forum, and I hope I can learn more from you peoples. Any questions, ask me :)

Well, welcome Ernasto. You're almost a neighbour of KC and me, we live about 15 kilometers from your city. KC and I will have a New Jack Swing get together shortly, maybe we'll have a New Jack Swing get together for more Dutch Swingbeaters within some months!

Are there any girls allowed?? :lol:

If you want to arrange a NJS get together... there already is one every 2 months at Vakzuid, Olympisch stadion in Amsterdam. Organised by me and my girls. We go back.....back into time to pay tribute to new jack swing! and to REMINISCE.......

Did any of you go tho see Mary J Blige in concert?? She performed in the HMH in Amsterdam. I was a bit dissapointed by her performance.

ThanQ voor de info! Geweldig te weten dat er nog meer Swingbeat fans in Holland around zijn.. Tja, alleen Amsterdam is niet bepaald voor mij om de hoek. Was er wel vandaag en heb nog een classic gescoord bij Fame (Keith Sweat: I'll Give All My Love To You)! Titelnummer al 10000000x gedraaid, maar had altijd een kopietje :( Nu eindelijk dus gehele oeuvre van Keith op originele CD. Ik schrijf zelf ook recensies voor VeryAzn/VA en we hebben eind december een VA party georganiseerd in VakZuid.. Ikzelf kon niet komen wegens andere verplichtingen maar hoorde van vrienden dat VakZuid normaalgesproken voor de upperclass is ofzo? Kun je daar wat meer over vertellen en in hoeverre dat verband houdt met jouw Reminisce-Events? Gewoon out of curiosity :) Dat New Jack en Swingbeat nog steeds leeft, merkte ik vandaag wel weer aan de hoge prijzen van Swingbeat bij Concerto, Utrechtsestraat :(

Just to give everybody a chance to know what we're talking about, I'll just keep writing in English. I guess we'll have to get over from the Far East to the Westsiiiiide ;) to get together and enjoy that thing!

Peace my dutch peoples.

I actually went to high school in the Netherlands from 1990 - 93, Brunnsum Zuid Limburg baby!!

That's when I first started dj'ing and I have the fondest memories of killing the dancefloor in places like Studio 54 (Heerlen) the Blue Beach (Ubach-Palenberg) and others when all the hot swingbeat hits were out.

I guess I'll go make a proper introduction now.

Well it was actually me, DJ Freez'. Haven't 'seen' Ernasto around for a while actually. Two Dutchies that were pretty regular visitors, Ernasto and KC Shaft, haven't posted for a while.
