Old School No Doubt!!!

I have a great appreciation for old school. If it were not for the old school, the new school would not have as much success. The only thing that bothers me now is that the new school does not make me dance anymore. No disrespect and do not get a sista wrong, there are only certain ones that can move the crowd as well as sing. The old school made it possible!!! I am almost 30 years old and I have never ever heard as much cursing and showing so much nudity in videos now. It is ridiculous, if you can sing, rap, harmonize-----you do not need half naked females in your video. Can someone feel me on this one? What happened to the good old days where songs have you bouncing, boppin' your head and singing/rappin' without all of the extra nakedness? Once again, if you can rap or sing, there is no need to give us all that unecessary stuff. All I want is to hear your music and to be intrigued by the beats. Holla!!!!!!

First Up, welcome to Anjel...great to see we have such a diverse range of people here with different opinions. Awesome.

As far as Ebony's comments on Old Skool, yeah I'm feeling your sentiments.

There is plenty of New Stuff out there which I dig but it seems you gotta do a bit of digging to find the real *Good* Nu Stuff !

Back then it seemed every new record coming out had the flava ! There weren't too many misses from the Tru Nu Jack Era (1989-1991/2).

But I attribute that to the foundation of the mid 80s where all those Synths and Beats never got in the way of great songs and and melodies. Songs that you could get down to at the club, feel in your jeep and relax and max to in your crib. One song could do all 3 !

Too much of the stuff now seems easily disposable - like it has a life of 2 months if youre lucky.

I'm just waiting for the backlash from those True Artists whose primary focus is the music and how it moves you, and can move you for years and years to come !
