Keeping New Jack Swing Alive

Yo! Talk about a ghost town in here. I used to be a member years ago. It's been so long I can't even remember my old Freeserve email!

Now at 51, I’ve entered the "rekindle my youth" phase and NJS was a massive part of that. With recent advances in AI, I’ve been tinkering with AI music tools to generate NJS style tracks. While it's mostly trial and error, I've managed to land on some cracking tunes that evoke classic vocals like Bobby Brown and Aaron Hall.

The lyrics are still a work in progress since I'm just using simple prompts and have never written a song in my life, but the beats are pretty solid. I’ve made over 100 tracks so far and started a YouTube channel to share the ones that hit home with me.

Hoping to connect with other NJS fans here who might want to mess around with these tools, drop some absolute belters, and keep the best genre in the world alive!

Cheers,

Nick

Hey Nick,

Yes, it is indeed a ghost town haha. However, I do think things are cyclical. Who knows, maybe this place will get busy again. But with all the places and ways for people to connect, it's a much different time than it was 20+ years ago when this forum first came online. But to me, it's a miracle that it's back, with most of the old posts restored, save a gap between much of 2005 and late 2006. But I digress.

AI is changing the game. Thank you for leaving a comment on here, and I look forward to checking out some of your work. Feel free to share some of it in the New Jack Swing 4 Ever Facebook group as well. I can't promise it will be universally welcomed (people as you know can get weird about AI) but hey... someone might love it.

....and I just looked. The channel is empty atm?

This reminds me... I'll need to figure out how to enable being able to @ people on this message board.
