Hey there...
I'm Danj!, 27, from Baltimore. I grew up listening to pretty much all the popular music of the 80s and 90s- the R&B, hip-hop, pop, and rock... I was a pretty big fan of the NJS movement as a kid. I def. remember listening to V103 and hearing a LOT of Guy and Al B., and my sister was a big Bobby fan...
Somewhere between then and a few years ago, however, I forgot a lot of the great music of that time. But I've been going back and getting excited all over again, especially in the last year or so. I've been hearing songs I haven't heard in years (i.e. Jeff Redd's "You Called & Told Me"), not to mention discovering songs I'd never caught wind of (i.e. Stacy Lattisaw's "What You Need") I guess that explains how I've gotten here, and I'm sure I'll get reminded of even more NJS classic stuff.

Welcome!!
I'm from upstate NY and have a similar experience. I'm more into classic soul but definitely like many of the ballads on New Jack albums. I'm not into rock and definitely despise hip hop. What ballads do you like?

Hey Danj, welcome to the NJS4E family! Great to see you've discovered some gems that you weren't aware of and as you already mentioned yourself, you'll definitely find some more information that you'd love to find

. The NJS4E forum has become an archive with priceless information about New Jack Swing as well as related genres in the past (almost) four years, so there is so much to dig in to. Be sure to know there are a lot of older posts that are very interesting too!
Enjoy the forum and becoming part of the family
