This week's special:

One well done anorak with a serving of geekyness on the side!

As announced earlier on this week marks a special time here on NJS4E. The next 7 days is dedicated to the trials and tribulations of being an anorak!

So what exactly is an anorak I hear you ask? Well there are two ways of defining the word anorak.

Wiki definition no. 1
"An anorak or parka is a type of heavy jacket with a hood, often lined with fur or fake fur, so as to protect the face from a combination of freezing temperatures and wind. "

Wiki definition no. 2
"In Britain, anorak is also a somewhat pejorative term for people whose interests are perceived to be nerdy, or who have more expertise in some arcane topic than seems altogether rational"

There are no prizes for guessing which one of the definitions are relevant to us here at the boards

So there you have it: The NJS4E Anorak week 2007
- a week dedicated to the more nerdy topics about the music we all love! I hope you'll all enjoy this weeks concept and participate with as much strange info you possible you possibly can.

Thanks for this great idea K-Bee!

In this week, we would like to show you all that there's nothin about being anoraky to be ashamed of

. Even better: we'll be showing you why being anoraky has it's advantages. I even dare say that without anoraks, NJS4E wouldn't have the value it has to so many visitors. See the anoraks have quite a bit of knowledge and can tell a lot of things that can help you to get to know some more music.

To give you a little insight in what being anoraky is: I was in an import shop years ago, where they had a sale and all I had to do was look at the label, the songwriters and producers to know if I would like a certain 12". I could buy 12"es without even knowing the track(s) or the artist(s), because I'd know if a songwriter or producer would appeal to me. So at times it might seem that being anoraky is pointless, but it definitely isn't!

Well it's Monday and and anorak week is officially over. I personally wanna thank everybody who embraced this idea and posted in the various threads. Feel free to engage further in the topics

but as for now, no more new threads with the "anorak week" header will be posted (until we do another one that is, this is most likely going to be an annual event)

Stay updated for more wacky week events in the future by logging on to NJS4E on a daily basis. You don't what you miss if you don't!
