Why did you pick your nickname?

I am pretty sure we had a thread about this before, but since I can't find it to bring it back up, let's do this again! I will drop my info, and I hope to read some more about you and your nickname!

Why did you pick the nickname you're using on NJS4E? What does it mean, if it means anything? Do you use this nickname elsewhere as well?

My nickname is the same as my DJ name: DJ Freez' (mind the apostrophe! :D). I didn't now I could use a space in my nick, otherwise I would have when I registered. I call myself DJ Freez' because I am of Frisian descent and this name refers to me being a Frisian. There's a DJ Freez as well in the Netherlands and I'm sure there are at least a dozen DJ Freez's around the world, be it DJ Freez or DJ Freeze, but the apostrophe makes it distinct as I have never seen that anywhere else. I use the same or at least a similar nick on other forums, but since the apostrophe can't be used on many sites, it can also be DJFreez or DJ Freez. Any questions? 8)

Well, mine's simple. eddie is my first name!! I chose to use lower case because many soul artists like Babyface used lower case on their albums!! Face has had the biggest influence on my songwriting and collecting in the early years of collecting Cds.

K-Bee is really just how you pronounce my initials in english. It was only later that I was remembering the MFSB disco classic "K-Gee" (on the Saturday Night Fever ost). I am in no way affiliated with the US toystore - neither do have anything to do with this:

I suppose I could actually be sued for using my nickname

The funny thing is that when I do a picture search on my nick, the first pic popping up is a picture of my TV that I once posted on a discomusic.com thread. That means I have higher hit rankings on google than both the toy store and the leotard guys! Suppose I should sue them then

Well my name is Steven, but I opted for Steve since it's shorter and less formal.

Hey K-bee did you ever hear of the K-Gee's -a funk outfit from the mid to late 70's who had a hit "Kilowatt". That's the first thing I think of when I hear your nickname. Despite driving past the toy store every day to work, I never thought of that. It's funny how the mind works.

it's funny cause I did a google search on my nickname yesterday when posting in this thread, and up popped stuff about the funk outfit you mention. I must admit I'm not familiar with them though. I'll have to check them out at some point

by Danadash
Danadash stands for David (me), Natasja (my wife) and the names of our two kids. Initially I used it for a new family e-mailadres. To me it didn't sound too bad, so shortly after that I also did start using it as a nickname.

What a brilliant thread. I never knew that about the user names you guys chose.

Dandash, that is a beautiful user name considering its significance to you.
Snoope23, that makes a ton of sense. I like it more now.
Al B Sure! Love.....if you're a fan...you're a fan....cool name.
Bee, you should sue them man! You can then set up K-Bee's Extraordinary Records. :D

On cyberspace I used to be called Teddyfunk as I am a BIG Teddy Riley fan and as I was also a fan of joDEci(as it was spelt on all the stuff for their first album)....I decided to become jodecidal, in honour of them and their music and to break away from the fact that I am such a big TR fan... I didn't know I could have used capitals otherwise I would have spelt it 'JOdecidal',which is a play on the letters from the first album. Which is why I always write the first 2 letters with capitals. I am now more commonly referred to as 'JOde', as this was the nickname of the nickname given to me by one of my best mates. DJ Freez' (with the apostrophe) :D

Thanks for all the replies! As JOde already mentions, it really explains things some more and makes names here make sense 8) . Like Snoope23 for instance, it just seemed like a randomly picked name (especially because of the 23). I didn't even know this from Danadash as well, so keep 'em coming people! :D

I was sent a url of a site where you can enter your real name and out comes a pornstar name, in case one would wanna enter that business but can't think of a name him/herself.
So I entered my real name, seconds later KC-shaft was born

I use the name everywhere on the internet, just for fun no special reason 8)
