Hi, I'm Eddie from the outer NYC suberbs and just wanted to say this is one of the best forums for music. I figured it would be dead becacuse many other music forums are sadly dying and urban radio says New Jack is dead. People are constructive and post daily.

I just wanted to say a bit about myself. I'm a retail worker with just an AS degree in accounting. I am into Black music from all eras. Chiefly my main years of collection range from 1964-1997. I dabble with todays stuff but I am not thrillled with Black radio of today. I also collect funk, disco, northern soul, popcorn, Quiet storm, retro nuevo (post quiet storm), hard bop, urban groove (which is contemporary smooth jazz), New Jack, and only a bit of neo-soul. My favorite labels are Philly International, Salsoul, Motown, Stax, Brunswick, Chess, Hi, and Solar, Alpha International, Atlantic cutouts!, Philly World, Kent, Rhino, Collectabels, and the Right Stuff reiusses. I have about 7,000 discs and the collection is pretty solid. I love when you can buy NJS for a penny online. I got about 50 cds like that by using cookies.

Yes, K-bee I'm also a member at discomusic.com and contemporaryjazz.com. I just joined the jazz forum and must say there are very few regular posters and much negativity. I also unfortunately typed several paragraphs only to have them not posted correctly to the jazz site. The disco site as good but I find if I post in the soul section, I get about 2 replies whereas if I post in the main section I get about 8 replies.

I'm not familiar with contemporaryjazz.com but i'll check it out. Thanks for the info. As for discomusic.com, I've kinda abandoned that one since there's too much bitching going on for my personal preferences. It's not like it used to be when I joined back in 2002.

Anyways, enough of that. It's good to have you on board Eddie

Good to have you here Eddie, I thought you and K-Bee would get along right when I started reading your post . I see you already posted some more on the forum and I hope you will become a regular, which I always hope when there's a new member. You seem to be able to add a bit more to the forums, like K-Bee does too, because of your extensive knowledge of music. This isn't a must of course, but I think it's interesting!

Hope you will stick around like many of us already do!

Hey, DJ Freeze, I'm also the cool one who likes the slow jams. I haven't listened to much hard core New Jack until recently and have realized I've been missing something by skipping the uptempo tracks. I just heard "Talking to myself" by Christopher Williams and it sounded pretty good.
We also need to make a slow jams list: My 5 favorites by groups from this era are the Wooten Brothers (Tell me, If we could be together), 4U- Home, Nu soul habits-Bring your loving home, Kiara-This time, and Rude Boys.

K-bee: Don't go to the jazz site if you couldn't stand the gripes on discomusic. There's much complaining and it takes several posts for those in the arguement to prove a point.

Can an administrator please get rid of that 'slow jams' phrase? Let's get back to the hardcore New Jack jams, shall we?

Hey, Steve. When I saw that five XI album in a cut-out bin about 10 years ago, I flipped. It was before online sales had taken off and I figured, I never would see that album again. Nobody and I mean nobody knew who I was talking about when I mentioned that group. NYC radio gave it one play and through it in the trash (which was later joined by ME II U, N-Phase, Guesss, and Simple Pleasure).
