Yes I'm here for the duration but you're killing my postmaster with these flying discs!!! And yes especially you David!!

I have about 7,000 discs but I've bought about 80 since joining. Most of which I bought for less than $5 including shipping.
I'm digging up old posts and looking for the slightly obscure titles that lean heavy on the ballad side.

I've managed to get pretty near everything that I remembered from BITD. Someone stole my notebook that had artists and titles to look out for but I think I got 95% of them. I'm also into classic soul 1964-1997 and smooth jazz which to me is instrumental Quiet Storm. I must say that there are diminishing returns with some funk, blues, and older soul but not as much with New Jack and smooth jazz. Yet most of the critics detest this era.

A continuing series of threads I've been doing since late 2004 and one that will probably go on forever. Unless I stop buying stuff, which is highly unlikely

I went through a real obscure list of about 100 cds and ordered all that I didn't have and any that raised my interest even slightly. I hope to review and do some write-ups on a majority of it. I know there some people interested like NJS4U members and lurkers who want to spread what I know and obtain some obscure classics.

Well, we're over a year later now and eddie, I'm proud to see you have become a regular. The funny thing is that we have come to find out you're not specifically a New Jack Swing lover and that you have New Jack albums mainly because of the soulful side of it. But you sure have proven to be a valuable member and you add a lot to the forum. Every member that does the odd post adds to the flavour of the forum and that's great!

Well I'm now listening to a hiphop mix that I did yesterday. I got home and was really inspired doing a hiphop mix after listening to Showbiz & AG's 'Runaway Slave' album and specifically "Soul Clap". I did record it, but I think I'm going to delete it, as this is not really a good mix. It has the good cuts, but I can hear I was tired when doing this. Most of the mixing is below par and I didn't pay attention to the differences in volume, which you can hear. But it's always good to check a mix you made, for inspiration and to learn from.

I'm listening to a lot of hiphop at the moment, partly because of the Hiphop Album Chart that I'm compiling, but also because I have my moments. I've been listening to a lot of NJS lately and now I'm more in a hiphop mood.

I used to listen to some hip hop like Tribe Called Quest, Digable Planets, Pharcyde, Arrested Development, and even Lords of the Underground but haven't had the urge in over a decade!! The last hip hop album I bought was around 1993. Most of what I had in hip hop was mix tapes from 98.7 KISS in NYC.
