Hi!

Post by BornIntoThe90s »

Hey, so this is my first post in this forum!!
My name is Adiza, im a girl, and i live in France...I was born in 1990 so it kind of explains my nickname. I think everybody noticed this is also the title of rkelly's first album ;)
I pretty much discovered new jack thx to this album, and even if this is not at ALL what my generation listens to, i fell in love with this kind of music! I used to listen to all that crap on the radio when i was younger, but new jack came to me and magic happened :o
I don't know new jack for a long time though, so i hope i will discover artists/bands on this forum that i didn't know before! right now i do love hi-five, SWV, i also enjoy h-town,bobby brown...
My favorites artists are Rkelly (let's say rkelly from born into the 90s to you saved me...dunno what happened to the guy after this, but it was a real disappointment) and Brian Mcknight.
That's all for now!

Hi Bornintothe90's,

I'm The_Fuss, from France too ! ;)

You'll see, this board is amazing !

I also like the R Kelly from the 90's, and some cuts from the 00's are ok too.
But my fave of them all remains Teddy Riley.

Welcome !

Peace,

the_fuss

Hello BornIntoThe90s!

I like the name, especially after your explanation that you were born in 1990. Ilove it that we had quite a few young members like you that discovered New Jack Swing and like it better than today's R&B (like most of us here do).

France is well represented here, with musicdaughter (who now lives in the US though), Sebswing (from Rouen), the_fuss, NJS French Lover (who lives in the UK now) and quite a few others, maybe even some that never introduced themselves (yet). Maybe France will become the best represented country on NJS4E!

You'll find so much info here, you probably won't believe it! :D There is a lot of talk about the lesser known acts in the 'Obscure Acts' section and when you start to browse the forum you'll be surprised about the amount of information shared here. Any questions? Drop them, but don't forget to check if something has been discussed already. There's a 'Search' button just under the NJS4E logo.

Make yourself at home!
OH YEAH, IT FEELS SO GOOD TO BE BACK WHERE WE BELONG

Welcome to the site Adiza :D
being born in 1990 you are definetely one of the younger members around here but that's not a problem. By registering here you have already shown your love for the old school....enjoy your stay :)

Nice descriptive name but I wouldn't call New Jack Swing old school. I'm eddie, 31 and about median age of all of the posters here. I'm into soul music dating back to 1963 so NJS is just one of the many styles I collect. It was the last great era of Black music that I could a vast majority of what was being played on the radio. I became disgruntled with soul music in the middle of the hip hop soul era.

What made you "Born into the 90's" like a style that was popular before you were 10? What do you think of funk, disco, and Quiet Storm?
It's retro-nuevo not a New Jack ballad!!
