Post by trobiani »

first i must say sorry for my english.

i'm spanish and i just love soul music from 80's & 90's.
i own about 2000 cds but lately i'm not increasing my collection because it's really difficult to find good new realeses. (just have a look at billboard r&b chart and you will find only rap... :(

Hey Trobiani !!!!!!

Welcome !

Your English seems fine, and anywayz we could use some Spanish folk around here, so hope u enjoy yourself 8)

I'm lovin the avatar by the way...it brings back some good memories for me...what an album that was by Keith.

2000 CDs is quite a library - I thought I had a lot, but u win ! And don't fear, there is good music out ..you just need to look further than the Billboard chart.

If you are more into the neo soul vibe, try the following if u ain't heard em already...

"RH Factor" - Roy Hargrove
"Beautifully Human" - Jill Scott
"Van Hunt" - Van Hunt
"Solo Sessions Vol 1. Live At The Knitting Factory" - John Legend
"3 Chords & The Truth" - Anthony David

and keep your eye on our "latest news' section.

Peace

thanks for your welcome.

what i mean to say about billboard chart is that is really sad you couldn't find any real soul artist included these days. (there are some exceptions...Anita baker..)
i usually buy cd through a site called cdbaby (recommended)

Yeah I see your point Trobiani ...the Billboard "R&B" chart is dominated by Hip-Hop these days, so much so that I think it's actually called the "R&B/Hip-Hop" Charts.

But yeah, I'll be looking forward to hearing you let us know about some real soul !! :D

i WOULD like someone made an index in this forum about "cds you got"

anyway these are some cds i got (chosen randomly):

MARCUS LEWIS-SING ME A SONG
MILES JAYE-MILES JAYE
MIKI HOWARD-CAN'T COUNT ME OUT
THE DEELE-AN INVITATION TO LOVE
DAVID BLACK-LOVING AIN'T EASY
DAVID PEASTON-INTRODUCING (one of my favourites)
RAYMOND JONES-NAKED SOUL
TIM MINER-TIM MINER
MILESTONE-LOVE, LIFE & HARMONY
XL-WHAT WE'RE ALL ABOUT
FREDDIE JACKSON-TIME FOR LOVE

and KEITH WASHINGTON,TAMIA,AFTER 7,AL B SURE,BILLY ALWAYS,BENITA ARTERBERRY.... and the list goes on.

BTW, the last cd i bought which i really enjoy was:

JOE.ALL THAT I AM

one of the best unreleased cds: TRINA BROUSSARD-INSIDE MY LOVE (a lot better than the released "same girl")
why "say you really love" and "why do i feel so sad" weren't included???????

my "most wanted cd"- JO JO ROBINSON-HUSH (i'd pay anything to get this album)

K-Bee your're right it would take years!!
But this post has given me the idea to create a post where we list our 50 'Most favourite albums in our collection'. I dunno if people will find it difficult to choose especially with the huge size of some peoples collections !! Also, I hope I am not repeating a thread that has already been done?
I am starting the thread in the 'Favourite artists' section.... :D

It's truly difficult to 'just' pick some favourites if you have an extensive collection. I think that most people would have different favourites at different moments.

I have my NJS moments, when I be pumpin' mad New Jack Swing in my car, but at other times, I'd be more into hiphop or R&B or even pop...

So to make a list of favourites, I don't think so, as most of the albums in my collection are all part of that, else I wouldn't own them :)
OH YEAH, IT FEELS SO GOOD TO BE BACK WHERE WE BELONG
I've got my old hobby back!
