When performing make the song your own
I think you cought the essence there in just one sentence Eddie! A lot of cover bands 'just play the songs', which make them sound uninspired sometimes. They also try to make it sound too much like the original, OR make such a different version of the song ...

It's hard for me to explain because I haven't spent as long around it as you all have. But I'm hoping this forum can point me to some great new sounds, and educate me in the process.
