About Knyte: Page 2

My first break into commercial radio was early 2001 at San Francisco's KZQZ-FM, better known as "Z 95-7". I was part of their "Z-Team", and got to drive around in the Z-mobiles, passing out bumper stickers, T-shirts, and other prizes at cool events. Hyping crowds at nightclub appearances and concerts was my favorite part of the job. Click on the pics for bigger ones. When you're done, you're more than welcome to continue

Editor's Note: Sadly, Z-95.7 is no more...the station switched in May 2002 to KKDV-FM, better known as "95.7 The Drive", playing classic rock. But a new Bay Area dance music station is now broadcast from 92.7 KPTI ("The Party"), picking up from where the "Z" left off.

This was my favorite vehicle to drive, the "Z"-burban. It had *windows* for one, so visiblity was never a problem. Plus, I was used to driving suburbans from when I was a Resident Assistant at the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB).

Yep...we're on the Golden Gate bridge. What you see in front of you is what we called the "Z Thunder Truck", which had it's own slammin' sound system inside. It used to be an ambulance, and thankfully I never had to drive it!

This was my last day with Z-95.7, at the San Francisco AIDS Walk on July 15, 2001. I got a chance to party with some of the staff the night before. Most of the Z-Team was operating on *maybe* an hour of sleep that day. But as a good friend of mine would say, those were "Good Times, Good Times."
